  it's that time again...

Photographers love taking pictures of Clay Matthews

awkward:::
:: The maids came again today when I was home...read this if that doesn't mean anything to you.

:: More than one DMV experience in the last 2 weeks. Oh, I can't take my knowledge test? Why's that? Oh, because I'm not a US citizen without my passport to prove it? My current drivers licence doesn't do it, eh? Well that's a shame. Too bad I drove 6 hours to make this happen. Have a nice daaaaaaay.

:: So I go to this place called Lush in the mall, heard of it? Yeah, well it's great and all except it's stocked with hippies and weird smelling perfume. One of the workers took me over to the sink and told me to try out the body wash. Except she took my whole arm and stuck it under the sink. Proceeded to lather me up herself with this great body wash and and rise it off a century later. Admittedly, the little arm massage was great and all but, hi, I don't know you and you just showered my arm.

:: The fact that I'm pretty sure I've put on at least 10 pounds since coming back to the homeland. America makes you fat, people. It just does.

:: Virtually no day-time social contact for the past week. It's time to move.

awesome:::
::  Breaking Bad was discovered and it's great. I'm rationing my episodes
 so I don't watch the whole darn thing in one night.

:: I get to move this weekend! After waiting what seemed like an eternity to get to
 this point in my life, I'm excited to start a fresh chapter in a new house with new and old friends.

:: Because of the whole moving thing, I've rationalized going out to
 almost all my favorite eating spots to get my hometown fix in before I'm off.

:: Leaps and bounds being made to make this whole "I need a job" thing happen.
 Keeping my fingers crossed!

:: IT'S. ALMOST. PACKER SEASON.  yes.

awkward:::
-- Fitting both me and Monica into one pair of very large jeans. We tried to take pictures to no avail due to lack of mobility. Couldn't find the camera. And oh, was baby Kelly confused about that moment.

-- Getting kicked out of not one, but two pools at the hotel last week . The first offense being that we were too rambunctious for the neighbs at 9am and needed to callense, {aka, be way more quiet}. The second offense was wearing "regular clothes" over our swimming suits. what? If anyone understands the rational behind that please inform me, I'm at a loss.

-- Everyone asking why my skin was falling off my forehead after the sunburn incident. Yeah, I know, I'm a snake, okay? This is what happens to gringos.

-- So at the department store here the attendants always put the stuff you decide to buy up on the counter until you're done shopping and then you go and get it. Weird and slightly annoying but, okay. So Monica and I are at the counter paying, and obviously forgetting this standard procedure because pretty soon we're eyeing up and inspecting this great brat that's, I'm sorry, what? 5 bucks? Well in the middle of all of it comes marching up it's rightful owner. Oh, um, sorry for putting our hands all over your brand new items...ah...yeah.  Didn't at all stop us from marching right over to the department to treat ourselves to the same sweet deal. Thanks for everything, Carrion.

awesome:::
-- Getting these new cups that change colors on their own. For some reason that was super exciting upon discovery. And I'm now drinking way more water just to see it change. Simple pleasures.

-- Reading this book, "Through the Gates of Splendor" by Elizabeth Elliot. She was the wife of one of the missionaries in Ecuador that attempted to reach the Auca tribe. I don't plow trough books very often but I read this guy in 3 days flat. It's that good.

-- The kid's newest discovery of play dough. Oh! if we could only do that all day. Their favorite is making cakes, torillas and little balls. I, unashamedly, am having just as much fun with it.

-- The abundance of  wintergreen Life Saver mints that were put in the library by a group. Trying to exercise self-control.  Really, I am.

Feliz Thursday, friends!
*Thanks for the photo, Erin : ) Couldn't remember where that one came from!

awkward::
-- my parents hiring maids to clean their impeccable house..i wonder if they walk in and are like, so...what's the job? what's more awkward is that they came while i'm melting into the land of social networking on my computer and simultaneously watching live with kelly {come on you know you like it}. so i'm like lifting my feet up so they can clean the floor. do i help? do i leave? at least i understand their spanish conversation about going and getting something out of the car. useful.

-- hair trims that are 55 buckaroos. that's outrageously insane, right? or is it just me...?! not awkward. just minorly majorly upsetting.

-- doing a walk/jog around the block with an infant and toddler because auntie erin forgot to make sure everyone went to potty before going to the pahk. i sat for a minute and decided if bushes were easier {do people get fined for that now??}  or if hopping the neighbors fence was worth it. instead i was a grown up {kind of} and booked it back. we made it. now if only the drugged up neighbor dog didn't wake the baby.

-- getting asked by way too many kids this week why my skin had so many dots on it {or any uninhibited variation of this question}. they're freckles, okay young people? that never gets old. oh wait, it does.

-- having to pick the register at wal-mart that didn't have one of my fellow high school ex-classmates standing at it. #smalltownproblems

--paying almost 7 dollars for a bowl of froyo at yo mamas because of a few amateur mistakes...putting a little big of everything in there. not paying attention. no room for toppings. complete overload. realizing that i have to pay for however much it weighs. at which point i look for a place to put some of it back. {can't do that.} paying for it anyway. i'll try harder next time.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

:: awesome
-- getting to spend so much time with family i usually don't get to spend mounds of time with. aka my three favorite little nieces in the whole universe. {and their mom and dad ; ) }

-- practicing my mad tortilla making skills so i don't loose what i got when we're back on jungle diet.

-- eating any kind of food from wherever. whenever. oh, and i didn't cook it. it's a miracle! it's amazing how many eating out places you can hit in one day when you really want to.

-- seein mah GB packers woop some firemen in a game of basketball.

-- being about 6 feet away from a real life giraffe. gosh i love those guys.

-- sleeping on these sheets that just smell absolutely magical. straight out of the garden but like better. where is that detergent from?! is that normal? and can i bring it back to honduras with me??

that's all for now.
happy thursday! getcho awkward on.

awkward::
-- the rag roll experiment roomie monica and i tried. except we used an old t-shirt that was left behind by a group. may or may not have been washed.
-- the gazillionth time i tried to kill a scorpion in my bathroom and missed. {and when i say i,  i really mean some guy way more valiant than me. "a" for effort, but the scary thing is still creeping around in there somewhere looking for his potential killer.
-- getting told by my sweet roommate that the skirt that i made had ripped in the back a little. claaaaasic. wonder how long i was sportin' that look before anyone noticed.
-- coming back from the chicken coop with eggs, only to trip on the porch, crack my big toenail, and spill the eggs everywhere. ugh. monday fail.
-- having a conversation with a honduran friend at the dinner table about how a baby is going to learn to play the guitar. he changed the subject to "can you please pass the bread. " i'm still yappin about the baby. 5 minutes later..oh..you wanted the breeeeeaaaad. facepalm.

awesome::
-- discovering monica's incredible bread-making skills thanks to the visitor's expertise. does there need to be a limit on carb intake?!
-- the rain is back and it's totally making everything super green and jungly looking around here. just call it jurassic park and you'll be right on.
-- looking forward to getting so see a good friend in nicaragua next week and tying in a visa trip with it.
-- last saturday's adventures. reliving my childhood only on a much larger scale.
